This beautiful light, attributed to a design by Gerda Iro Gerdago, depicts a 10" graceful dancer atop a 5 1/4" high and 5" in diameter hollowed out alabaster base. The base is etched and paint decorated in gold. There is some paint loss on the dancer's legs and on her head and some rubbing on the top rim of the alabaster. The wiring looks to be original but is intact and in usable condition.

Gerda Iro Gerdago was born in Vienna in 1906 and was a famous theatrical costume designer and sculptor. He designed costumes for the Ballet Russes and the Folies de Paris.

This light is certain to enhance and/or be the focal point of your vintage or contemporary decor and would be a great addition to your Art Deco collection.
