This rare and highly collectible 9" cocktail plate is in excellent vintage condition: I can find no flaws. The back is marked: Crown Ducal, England, Regd No. 784158.
Actually one of six different plates in the original series, each depicting a whimsical illustration of a woman at a bar with a particular drink in her hand, this plate is "Bacardi" and features a (Spanish?) woman in evening dress with a peineta (high comb) in her hair, her shawl thrown over the bar and what is ostensibly a Bacardi in her hand. The illustration is black on cream ground and is signed in the lower left corner: CW Anderson.
This wonderful cocktail plate would be a fantastic addition to your vintage barware collection and hung on your wall, perched on a stand or actually used as a plate would certainly be the focal point of and/or enhance your vintage or contemporary decor.
