Don Loper was an an American costume and necktie designer - mostly in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as a screenwriter, choreographer, associate producer, actor, and assistant to MGM musicals producer Arthur Freed. Loper's work, some of which was designed for stars Lucille Ball and Ella Fitzgerald, is featured in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the California African American Museum.

Here is a fine example of one of his ties: it is a rich cream and chocolate brown silk with his label on the back, as well as his name on the white silk lining. It is approximately 54" in length and 3.5" at its widest. This piece is in excellent vintage condition: I can find no flaws. Please note that the actual colors are more intense than as shown in the photos.

This stunning tie would certainly enhance your vintage or contemporary ensemble and would be a fine addition to your vintage neck tie collection.
