This wonderful terracotta tile wall hanging is in excellent vintage condition: I can find no flaws other than a few small rubs on the gold frame. The paper backing needs to be replaced as it is torn in places and exposes the wood backing.
The 2 tiles are mounted on a green suede-like material; the lady measures approximately 8 1/2" by 14" and the gentleman, 7 1/2" by 14". The frame itself measures approximately 25 1/2" x 25".
The gentleman tile is signed "J. Ruth in the bottom left corner. It is interesting to note that "J. Ruth" is actual Ruth Faktor, sometimes known as Ruth Factorwicz - an Israeli artist whose work often reflects that of Pablo Picasso's Cubism.
