This dress can be worn as a day dress or out to a soiree; it is in very good vintage condition, with only one slight discoloration on the front of the skirt of the silk which barely shows when the dress is worn which I could not capture with my camera.

(metal) zipper length: 17.5"
kick pleat length: 6.5"
Both the dress and matching jacket are silk; the jacket and the top of the dress are embellished with silk ribbon. The actual color is best depicted in photos 3, 4 and 5.
As you can see from the photos, this iconic 1950s dress is as beautiful with the jacket on as it is with the it off. It would be a wonderful addition to your vintage clothing collection and can certainly be worn today; it is a beautiful example of 1950s textile art and fashion.
